This webpage deals with cylinder gardening, which in this case is simply growing things in a 5 gallon bucket instead of in the ground. This is something you could try at home or that could be used at schools (urban schools are mentioned in the article because they may not have the space and actual ground to grow traditional gardens). My children, ages 2 and 4, really enjoyed helping me garden last summer. I think this is important to nutrition because often children will try new foods, or those they claim not to like, simply because they watched the plants grow and helped to take care of them.
