Insights About Myself Given This Blogging Experience

Over the course of this blogging experience I have gained several insights about myself. One is that while I have become more familiar with technologies this semester, there is still much room for growth and improvement. I am still somewhat apprehensive about experimenting with unfamiliar applications such as video and photos, but I hope to incorporate these into future postings. I think I will find using these to be easier than I think!
I had been introduced to Blogger through another technology course before beginning this assignment, and have found it to be user-friendly yet filled with options, making me think that I will definately use blogging in my future career as a media specialist. I think that even second and third graders could somewhat create and contribute to a blog, if given appropriate and developmentally appropriate instruction. I think that students would get more meaning, and enjoyment, out of blogging about what they learn, such as developments in a science experiment, than just writing a report about their findings, and this collaborative technology would allow everyone to contribute to one virtual "document".
I have also gained insight as to just what a group of individuals with the common goal of creating and modifying a blog on a specific topic can accomplish. In this format we combine our different knowledges and experiences with technology, such as websites we have used in the past, to put information on a very important topic, helping students eat nutritiously, on the web for interested parties to see. We also gain new ideas and resources from our co-collaborators; there are several postings that have links that I hope to further investigate in the future.
